Alexander “Alec” Haverstick II
Principal, Boxwood Wealth Management
Senior Advisor, Milbank Roy & Co.
646.747.6507

Alec Haverstick has spent more than thirty years listening to and creating solutions for private clients. He is an individual client practitioner in the truest sense.

Alec began his career as a Trusts & Estates attorney first with Carter, Ledyard & Milburn and then Simpson, Thatcher & Bartlett, both in New York City. After eight years of practicing law, Alec moved to the other side of Wall Street, where he focused on creating financial solutions for wealthy individuals. He was, successively, a Managing Director at each of Kidder Peabody, Prudential Securities, Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank. In this latter role he headed the client services area for families with wealth in excess of one hundred million dollars and led the development of risk mitigation, liability management and liquidity provision techniques for individuals with concentrated and/or inherited wealth. His most recent Wall Street role was as president of Morgan Stanley Trust Company, a position he held until May 2007.

Recognizing the lack of client focus at even the most prestigious of financial institutions, Alec formed Boxwood Wealth Advisors in June 2007 as a family advisory firm in the belief that the highest and best use of his intellectual capital, broad expertise and years of experience was to apply it to servicing family and individual needs. He now “quarterbacks” the financial and related matters for a variety of clients ranging from individuals to family companies as well as advising on family governance, wealth transfer strategies and philanthropic endeavors his clients might wish to pursue.

Alec is a graduate of St. Paul’s School, where he also served as a trustee, Yale College and the Columbia University School of Law. He has also served as a trustee of The Pingry School in Martinsville, New Jersey; the Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey; and as a member of the Board of Regents of Georgetown University.

Alec resides in Short Hills, New Jersey with his wife, Jessica. They have four children, the elder two of whom were recently wed, and the younger two who attend Princeton and Yale respectively.
